Page 1 | Page 2 | Page 3

C.     Identity Integration Feature Pack

1.      Preparing to install IIFP

a.       Edit the registry to make SQL 2000 SP4 appear to be SP3

?        IIFP 1a has a bug where it doesn?t detect SP4 correctly and will throw the following error when trying to install it on SP4:
Microsoft Identity Integration Server SP1 requires a running instance of
Microsoft SQL Server 2000 with Service Pack 3 (8.00.760) or later. Install
the correct SQL Server version of service pack and make sure the service is
running before installing Microsoft Identity Integration Server SP1.

i)        Open up regedit and goto HKLM\ SOFTWARE\Microsoft\MSSQLServer\MSSQLServer\CurrentVersion

ii)       Change the value in CSDVersion from ?8.00.2039? to ?8.00.760?

b.      Create a service account for IIFP

i)        Create an account in the domain where the IIFP server will be installed

ii)       Add the account to the local Administrator?s group on the server IIFP will be installed on

2.      Download IIFP from Microsoft

3.      Run ?Identity Integration Feature Pack.exe? to extract IIFP and start the installation process

4.      Click Install Identity Integration Feature Pack 1a

5.      Click Next > at the Welcome screen

6.      Accept the license and click Next > again

7.      Choose Complete for the installation Type and click Next >

8.      On the Store Information screen, select This computer and The default instance

?        This assumes SQL 2000 is installed locally. ?If it is not, choose the correct options.

9.      ?Enter the service account information, created in step #1

10.  Confirm the Group Information

?        The install program will create these groups automatically.

11.  Click Start on the Ready to Install the Program screen

12.  If you are installing IIFP on a DC, click OK on the warning message

?        It is recommended that the IIFP service account is not a domain administrator.? If your IIFP server is also a DC, it will be an Administrator in the domain since it needs to be a member of the local administrator?s group on the server it is installed on.? Therefore, it is recommended that you do not install IIFP or MIIS on a domain controller in your production environment.? For lab purposes it can be installed on a DC.? When MAs are configured to communicate with a directory, you need to specify which account to use.? The account specified should have the minimum permissions to retrieve and/or update information in the target directory for maximum security, and to help prevent undesirable changes.

13.  After a few moments you will see another warning message, click OK on it
?

14.  When prompted, choose a location to save the encryption key set, enter a file name, and click Save

15.  Click Finish when the install is done

16.  Click No on the prompt to logoff

17.  Post install steps

a.       Fix the registry to make SQL 2000 SP4 appear as SP4

i)        Open up regedit and goto HKLM\ SOFTWARE\Microsoft\MSSQLServer\MSSQLServer\CurrentVersion

ii)       Change the value in CSDVersion from ?8.00.760? to ?8.00.2039?

b.      Download the IIFP hotfix rollup package KB884192

i)        Run IIFP2003Update-KB884192.msp

ii)       Click Update

iii)     Accept the license and click Next >

iv)     Enter in the IIFP service account password and click Next >

v)      Click Finish, logoff, and log back on
