& UNIX Sendmail E-Mail Server 

 

EXCHANGE E-MAIL SERVER

Can run only on windows operating system

Dependency: -  Need a windows domain server which will cost additional server license

Can run on any Unix variants

Dependency:-  Needed any Unix  variants server such as Linux, FreeBSd etc which is free to use

Comprehensive corporate E-Mail server with all the subsystems integrated and ready to use out of the box

Difficult to put together various subsystems and configuration to make it a comprehensive corporate messaging server

Various Subsystems in Exch are MTA, IS, DS, SA, IMC, IIS etc

 

Various Subsystems in Unix E-Mail server are Sendmail MTA for internet e-mail delivery and message routing, Procmail for local delivery, IMAP/Pop3 for client access, SquirrelMail & Apache for webmail access, LDAP for address book etc

Easy to deploy & Administer

Good experience/knowledge is required to setup, But easy to administer

 

Expensive need to buy Server license and client access license

No License required for E-mail server or Client access.
