Requirements: Windows NT machine Outlook 97 or 98 Network access to your Public Folder Server Exchange Service account and password Prep: Log into the machine as the Exchange Service Account. Use the Exchange Admin program to create a mail account called Exadmin. Assign the Exchange Service account as the Domain account for this mailbox. Create an Outlook profile called EXADMIN for the new mailbox and launch Outlook to test connectivity. Step 1: Copy the contents of the Public Folder Tools folder to your hard drive. Execute Step1.bat and Answer Y to the first question. Follow the instructions to create a Public Folder file to import rights once the migration is complete. Step 2: Export the Public Folders to a PST file. Step 3: Export any forms from the server including the Organizational forms library Step 4: Once the migration is complete, copy the contents of the PST back to Public Folders and Execute step2.cmd to replace the rights. Step 5: Use the UpdateSender.oft Outlook form to reset the authors of every item in every folder. The current tool allows you to update all of the items in a single folder at once.
