The Microsoft Exchange Administrator console gives you the option to generate a standard Display and Alias Name format for all mailboxes and custom recipients. These settings are under OPTIONS | TOOLS on the Auto Naming tab. Unfortunately this is not a global setting. This means that for every user who accesses the Exchange Administrator console, these settings need to be modified to match your company policy. For large organisations with multiple sites, this can be difficult to enforce. Luckily it's not impossible to rectify this problem. These settings are stored in the registry under HKCU\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Exchange\MSExchangeAdminCommon The two values are "DNGAutotextFormat"="%First %Last" "ANGAutotextFormat"="%1First%Last" You can implement these settings by configuring these settings in the Exchange Administrator console, and then exporting the above key to a .reg file. You can then either get all Administrators to run this file, or force it out through logon scripts. I have included two sample .reg files which can be modified. The craftier could create an ADM file and force this out through policies.
