Here is some information if you are new to using the Newsgroups.

These newsgroups are monitored by other Outlook users, including MVPs who have been recognized by Microsoft for their expertise and willingness to volunteer their time to help. Hundreds of messages are posted each day, and most get answered quickly. For best results:

• Check the other support/search resources listed elsewhere before posting your question (such as the Microsoft support page).
• Make the subject of your post interesting and specific.
• If you're having a problem, include detailed symptoms and steps to reproduce.
• Don't cross-post to multiple newsgroups. They are all watched closely. Try to put your message in the right newsgroup:

• If you don't get an answer, that probably means no one has a solution for your issue yet. Remember that these are a peer-to-peer newsgroups. If it is a mission-critical issue, consider some of the other support options at

• Don't post questions about Outlook Express, the e-mail and newsreader included with Microsoft Internet Explorer 4.0/5.0. Use microsoft.public.inetexplorer.ie4.outlookexpress instead.
